Dubna to Become a Sort of Singapore for the Moscow Region
Since the times of the Soviet Union the town of Dubna, a prominent Russian and international scientific centre, has been regarded as a kind of scientific Makkah by the world scientists. Not without reason Element 105 of Mendeleev’s table was called Dubnium. Even through the 1990s — hard times for the Russian science — Dubna managed to retain its status and scientific traditions.
RosNOU and Cultural Rapprochement
The XXII International Fair “Expolingua-Berlin 2009” was held in Berlin on November 20 — 22. The major subjects of the Fair were languages and cultures, languages and careers, the vocations of a translator and an interpreter. This is one of the most authoritative educational shows which is traditionally held at the Russian Science and Culture Centre. The Russian New University, RosNOU, was among more than 180 participants from 30 countries, representing 60 languages.
