RosNOU Student's Training in India
On December 12 a group of RosNOU students came to Pune, India, for their practical training courses at the I2IT University. The course is to cover a period of 3 months up to March 6. Dmitry Rastyagaev, the group’s supervisor, and the students convey news about their studies sharing their impressions, informing about their progress and problems.
Dmitry Rastyagaev expresses his opinion of RosNOU students making themselves familiar with the new place and the new community there. Julia Gurova, a member of the group, told us about her impressions of the training course beginning.
Julia Gurova:
- We were welcomed in a very friendly manner. They brought us to our campus and roomed us right away. The three girls of our group got a room next to that where our two boys settled. The Internet connection was established right after our arrival. We communicate with local students in English and feel quite at ease. In general, we are getting used to the local ways. The point is that they have a very special accent there.
So far everything is OK. Let’s hope there won’t be any disappointing developments.
Dmitry Rastyagaev:
- The University campus was active when we arrived. It was Saturday, there were no classes, but the end-of-semester exams had already started. Some students were taking their first exams, which could happen every day, others were revising the material for the exams, but there were still others who could not bother about the exams and do whatever they wanted because they were free. Cricket is a popular sport in India. Students play themselves and, what is more noticeable, support their teams during TV broadcasts. The campus canteen is a kind of a club where the students can watch matches on TV and get excited seeing their teams’ success.
The campus is an isolated territory, fenced off from the outer world. Everything is focused on studies. Smoking and alcohol are prohibited there.
We were given three days to become familiar with the place, and then the studies began: the Indian culture, English, personnel management, economy, and management classes.
From the letter of I2IT Vice President for International Relations:
The present batch of 5 students from RosNOU are very serious in their academic activities and are regular in attending their classes. I am getting positive feedback from the faculty members. We have initiated their project activities and the mentors are guiding them for their individual projects.
Best wishes,
Prof. Pankaj Roy Gupta, Vice President International Relations, I2IT
