On 15 December 2021, the Quacquarelli Symonds company presented its ranking of universities in emerging Europe and central Asia — QS EECA University Rankings 2022.

  • Citations per paper  — 5 %;
  • International faculty  — 2.5 %;
  • International students  — 2.5 %.

Russian New University is a member of the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence and, according to its Rector Vladimir A. Zernov, QS EECA University Rankings provide higher education institutions of the region with valuable information.

— This ranking allows countries to compare positions of their universities with the results of universities in neighboring countries. For instance, we can compare universities in Russia and Turkey. The ranking is a mirror that reflects both advantages and disadvantages of any university.

The QS company has a good ranking line. I hope that the makers of the Three University Missions Moscow International University Ranking will also be moving in this direction and begin compiling rankings by subject, region, and probably even by the federal district.

— How objective is RosNOU’s score in QS Rankings?

— I think it is quite objective. In any case, it’s a signal to our university to work even more. We should remember a piece of advice from Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass: “It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that.”
