About the Program
The Bachelor program “Methodology of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language” is designed for those students who would like to learn not only how to speak and write in Russian fluently but also how to effectively teach others to do so.
The first year of the program is specifically aimed at intensive study of the Russian language, mastering of its grammar, and development of speaking, listening and writing skills. Russian language classes are interspersed with general courses that are instructed in Russian with the help of an auxiliary language such as English, French, Arabic or Chinese.
In the following three years of the program, students acquire professional knowledge in Pedagogy and other specialized disciplines. They learn how to:
- teach different aspects of Russian as a Foreign Language to learners of various levels;
- organize educational process and prepare teaching materials in accordance with students’ language proficiency levels and age groups;
- use psychological and pedagogical methods in the classroom to meet the learning needs of all students;
- organize individual and group work in the classroom;
- control and assess students’ progress;
- design educational programs and its components;
- understand operating principles of modern IT and use them to enhance and facilitate the educational process.
