June 14-17, RosNOU International Programs and Academic Mobility Department staff attended panel discussions and events ofSt. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). SPIEF isaplatform where governments, business community, development agencies, and not-for-profit organizations meet todiscuss key economic issues that Russia and the world face and toseek possible ways for cooperation. This year alone, SPIEF saw approximately 17,000 participants from 130countries. The SPIEF discussions tie indirectly with academic, research, and international activities atRosNOU: information technology development (session “Technological Sovereignty inIT”), taxation (session “Concerted Action: Configuring the Tax System through Feedback”), tourism, joint discussions with Eurasian Economic Union (session “Russia-Kyrgyz Republic”), with BRICS (sessions “Russia-Brazil”, “Russia-India”, “Russia-China”, “BRICS Business Partnerships inthe New Economic Reality”) and other key partners (sessions “Russia UAE”, “Russia-Latin America”).
RosNOU prepares future leaders and professionals for a new changing world, therefore discussions of vital socio-economic issues, most recent trends, and possible answers to such issues find good use at the university. As Natalia Gavrilovna Pecheritsa, Head of RosNOU International Programs and Academic Mobility Department, points out: “RosNOU professionals always look to have a better grasp of current events and developments in the Russian society and abroad, including cooperation in academics and research. Hence, we attend closely to the issues discussed on top platforms for national and international dialogue.”
Every year, one day of the Forum is set off for young entrepreneurs. Today aspiring young people have unique opportunity for professional development. In that way, RosNOU representative had an opportunity to attend sessions and participate in activities aimed at unlocking personal potential and boosting professional skills and competencies.
