On June 29, 2020, the RUR rating agency presented the subject rating of world universities in the field of technical sciences. Universities were assessed by the quality of education, the level of scientific research, their involvement in international academic cooperation, as well as financial stability.
The University of Oxford is at the top of the list, the California Institute of Technology takes second place, and the University of Cambridge is in third place. The best among Russian universities is ITMO (92nd in the world ranking). The second place is taken by Moscow State University (115th place), the third one – by MEPhI (137th place).
The Russian New University (RosNOU) took 679th place in the world ranking and 48th place among Russian universities participating in the ranking. The compilers of the rating rated Teaching Ranking as the best: by this indicator, RosNOU took 474th place in the world and 36th place among Russian universities participating in the rating.
In total, 757 leading world universities, including 66 Russian universities, were included in the RUR subject ranking in technical sciences.

RUR is an international university ranking ranking 1,100 leading universities from 82 countries. Rating data provided by Thomson Reuters international company. The rating is carried out by the RUR Rankings Agency, which was created in 2013.
RosNOU’s Rector Vladimir Zernov becomes co-head of joint ad hoc group to develop Three University Missions Ranking
The decision to set up the ad hoc group was made by the Council of the Russian Rectors’ Union and the executive committee of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
