On February 20, 2021, a face-to-face doors open day was held at the Russian New University (RosNOU). The last time events for applicants in this format were held almost a year and a half ago, after which the events were switched to the remote mode for the period of epidemiological restrictions.
Before the event, the applicants were divided into two groups, and for each of them, RosNOU students conducted a tour. During the excursion, students told in detail about each of the seven floors of the university. The tours ended in the lobby of the Malachite Hall, where guests could talk with representatives of the institutes and ask questions to the consultants of the information center for applicants.
In the Malachite Hall, the guests were waiting for a presentation of extracurricular activities, which was conducted by the chairman of the Student Council of RosNOU Nikita Seleznev. There was also a giveaway of RosNOU branded products —hoodies. Then the guests got into a large audience, where the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Grigory Shabanov spoke about changes in the rules for admission to universities in 2021. Among them are the availability of personal insurance policy number for applicants, the equalization of rights for admission to Russian universities for citizens of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, the choice of the third entrance test instead of two possible ones, the replacement of two stages of admission with one, and other innovations.
