RosNOU students visit Golden Ring towns

26 May 2021
RU

On 21-23 May 2021, at the invitation of the Institute of World Civilizations, a few active students of the Russian New University (RosNOU) visited such towns of the Golden Ring of Russia as Vladimir, Suzdal, and Murom. The trip was of sightseeing and educational nature.

The students had a chance to talk to the administration of the Vladimir region. The staff of different departments of the municipal administration presented their divisions and answered the students’ questions. Apart from that, the students visited the convention hall of the town council where they could imagine themselves as deputies.

The rest of the time the students spent with experienced tour guides visiting numerous places of interest of Vladimir, Suzdal, and Murom.

Twelve RosNOU students took part in the tour: Mikhail Fyodorov, Evgeniya Bulanova, Viktoriya Yusheyeva, Evgeniy Antipovskiy, Arut Melkonyan, Anna Ostyakova, Anna Koscheyeva, Ekaterina Yanglyayeva, Aleksandr Kalyadin, Denis Skorochkin, Mariya Slesareva, and Evgeniya Arabadzhiyskaya.

I’m sincerely grateful for the organization of this amazing tour of the Golden Ring towns and for the opportunity to take part in it. We’ve visited new towns, seen interesting sights and made friends with students from other universities.

In all the places we were staying, the accommodation was super comfortable and the catering was very satisfying and delicious.

I hope we managed to make a good impression on our guides who were very attentive to us during the whole trip. We tried to put our best faces forward.

That was a wonderful trip. We had a great time, enjoyed the beauty of the Vladimir region, and satisfied our spiritual hunger by visiting sacred places. I hope there will be more such trips in the future.

first-year student at the Institute of Business Technologies, RosNOU

RosNOU’s Department for Youth Affairs gave me an opportunity to go on a sightseeing tour of historic towns of Russia for three whole days.

We spent the first day in Vladimir. We visited its famous central square and had an interactive session at the municipal administration.

The second day was even more interesting. We came to Murom where we were welcomed by Ilya Muromets* with the traditional bread and salt ceremony. Among other places, we visited the Monument to Peter and Fevronia, Murom saints.

We spent the third day in Suzdal where we tried delicious gingerbread cookies and homemade jam, came up the hills, and experienced the vastness of Russia.

I am grateful to RosNOU for such an opportunity to get acquainted with our country’s incredible history and to feel in full the spirit of Russia.

* Ilya Muromets or Ilya of Murom is one of the bogatyrs (epic knights) in Russian folklore

Anna Ostyakova
sophomore student at RosNOU College

On 21 May, our group of RosNOU students together with students of the Institute of World Civilizations left for Vladimir. During almost all the time we were on the bus, our guide told us curious facts about the places we were passing. In three days spent in Vladimir and its region, we visited many churches, cathedrals, monasteries, museums, and simply beautiful places. The trip was incredibly informative and exciting. To me, it all passed far too quickly so I wish there were more similar trips.
