On September 23, 2021, a forum of mass media and analytical centers of the SCO countries was held in Beijing.
The forum, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO*) and to the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States held in Dushanbe, was organized by the PRC Administration for the Publication and Distribution of Literature in Foreign Languages and the SCO Secretariat.
During the forum, more than 20 experts, scientists and media representatives from India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Uzbekistan and other SCO member states held discussions in person and online.
Professor Nataliya Pecheritsa, Director of RosNOU Center of Asia-Pacific Countries and a Russian expert on the economy of the People's Republic of China, made a report at the forum, in which she touched upon the prospects for expanding economic cooperation and trade between China and Russia, and all SCO member countries, as well as the role of the organization in the further development of the Far East.
As the world has changed, new trends are emerging; countries are adapting to new realities and living conditions. It is those countries that turn out to be the most flexible and adaptable that demonstrate economic growth, not recession. If the Far Eastern dimension is integrated into the SCO project space, Russia will expand the international arena to defend its national interests and priorities in the Far East; China will have the opportunity to show the world a new model of regional cooperation; and Central Asian states will get preferential access to ports on the Pacific Ocean, allowing them to diversify the structure and routes of their exports. So, everyone will win without exception

*Currently, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization includes nine countries: India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan.
