On 9th February 2023, RosNOU’s delegation headed by Rector Vladimir A. Zernov took part in the Reception of the Embassy of Iran in Moscow marking the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. The guests were welcomed by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak.
In his address to the guests, Ambassador Kazem Jalali emphasized that the collaboration between the two states was developing at a record pace, the trade turnover between Iran and Russia, for the first time ever, had exceeded 35 billion rubles, and that Iran intended to continue strengthening ties of friendship and economic cooperation with Russia.
Alexander Novak, in his turn, congratulated the people of Iran on the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and wished prosperity to the friendly state as well as health and happiness to all its citizens. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Iran masterly copes with external challenges staying a significant part of the global economy and one of the world’s key cultural and religious centers.
The distinguished guests who came to share the joy with the Iranian people on that day included high-ranking officials, Russian military officials, ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Russia, military attaches, outstanding political, cultural and religious figures, scientists, philosophers, Russian Media executives, and RosNOU representatives.
RosNOU has been closely working with Iran for over twenty years. The university has its own educational platform for cooperating with Iran in the sphere of humanities — Center of Iranian Culture and Persian Language. In the current circumstances, it is particularly relevant to prepare and implement joint projects with the country that has found unique ways of developing under the strictest sanctions of the West.
At the end of 2022, RosNOU signed a cooperation agreement with one of the major universities of Iran — Al-Mustafa International University.
