On 20 October 2020, Russian New University (RosNOU) and K.N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU) in Tehran, Iran, launched a joint educational programme in Linguistics and Russian as a Foreign Language.
Today, due to the development of trade, cultural, political and socio-economic relations between Russia and Iran we are witnessing a rapid growth of the interest in studying the Russian language for professional purposes. The reason is the acute shortage of interpreters and translators specializing in the Russian language in the sphere of manufacturing and support of the technological process in Iran.

Head of RosNOU's International Affairs & Academic Mobility Directorate
The linguistic programme was developed by the Chair of the Russian Language and Publishing Business and by the Chair of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication at RosNOU's Institute of Technologies for Humanities.
According to the programme which lasts two academic years, KNTU students will study at RosNOU for one semester per academic year.
