829 universities from 71 countries were included in the list of the leading universities. Harvard University headed the world ranking, Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov (with 97th place in the world ranking) came to the top of a group of Russian universities. In addition to Moscow State University, other three Russian universities were included in the world top 200 ranking: MEPhI, Tomsk State University and MIPT.
While universities were ranked, 20 indicators were used to evaluate the activities of universities in four areas: the quality of teaching, the quality of research, the level of internationalization and the level of financial stability.
In the world ranking, the Russian New University (RosNOU) took 746th place, and 61st place among 82 Russian universities included in the RUR rating. Experts rated the quality of teaching at RosNOU especially highly: according to this indicator, the university took 504th place in the world ranking and 34th in Russian one.
