The project is devoted to a vital and urgent topic - the social responsibility of universities in the context of the internationalization of higher education in Russia.
Internationalization and globalization of higher education is one of the leading trends in the development of modern universities around the world. For instance, the federal project on educational export stimulates Russian higher education institutions to significantly increase the number of foreign students – up to 710,000 by 2025. In this regard, the relevance of Mallaika Thapar’s study is in no doubt.
In this work, the internee analyzed the features of the internationalization of higher education in Russia. The issues of academic mobility of students and teachers, the development of educational programs in foreign languages, the specifics of distance-learning, and the variety of ways of international cooperation between academic institutions were studied on the example of private and public universities in different regions of Russia.
Universities’ use of corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies is one of the most important and effective methods of increasing the competitiveness of Russian education internationally. Achieving strong reputational positions and gaining competitive advantages is possible thanks to the activities of Russian universities aimed at sustainable development of society and leading to significant changes in it for the benefit of all.
