On February 11, 2020, delegation of the Russian New University (RosNOU), headed by rector Vladimir Zernov, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the revolution and met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, Mr. Kassem Jalali.
On December 24, 2019, the new Iranian ambassador to the Russian Federation arrived in Moscow; on February 5, 2020, he presented his credentials to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Mr. Jalali, before being appointed ambassador, was a deputy of the Iranian parliament – the Mejlis, chairman of the Iranian-Russian friendship group in the legislative body of the Islamic Republic, and also headed the Mejlis Research Center.
Rector of RosNOU Vladimir Zernov invited the new ambassador of Iran to visit the university, meet with students and teachers.
On September 19, 2014, the previous Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, Mehdi Sanai, officially opened the Iranian Culture of the Persian Language Center at the Russian New University.
